Extra Policies and Information
Aggressive Dogs Welcome
PLEASE NOTE - Owner must warn groomer. Aggressive dogs are a liability to themselves and to the groomer. Owners must be actively working on the issue with a trainer and or vet. Will not accept owner and dog if owner refuses to acknowledge it's a problem. If behaviour requires extra appointment time, it will be charged accordingly.
Matted Dogs
Matted dogs are severely tangled or knotty, they are at a much higher risk of injury, stress and trauma. All precautions will be taken to avoid this, however problems can arise during and after grooming, such as nicks, irritation and stress. Ellie's dog
grooming is not liable in the event of things occurring from and after a matted shave down. Ellie's dog grooming will not and cannot brush out excessive matts or knots. It is painful and unnecessary.
Fleas
Fleas are an easily managed external parasite that cause horrific irritation to your pet. In the event your pet is booked in with fleas, there will be a $15 charge on top of your grooming fee to cover the cost of a bomb and the flea rinse. Ellie's dog grooming is not liable for the irritation caused by fleas or the removal of them. Please note fleas carry tape worm and dogs need to be wormed as well as flea treated.
No-Show and Cancellations
Ellie's Dog Grooming requires minimum 24 hours notice for single spot appointments and 48 hours for double or more spot appointments in the event of a cancellation. Less than that amount of notice will require a $25 fee per dog to recover the costs of lost income,You will not be given the opportunity to re-book if it is your first appointment or if you have no showed more than once. (obviously emergencies are considered)
Pick-Up and Drop-Off
Ellie's Dog Grooming is not licensed as a daycare. Dogs must be picked up within 30 minutes of message or call to you. Daycare will be charged at $10 per 10 mins. If you need to organize your dog to stay longer, this must be done prior to appointment.
Obesity
Obesity is a preventable problem caused by poor portion control, free feeding or bad diet. Obese dogs die early, they are in constant pain and are a huge liability to groom. Ellie's dog grooming is not liable to any problems caused by obesity related problems. Obese pets may experience joint pain after a groom or extra stress. Please consult a veterinarian to get your pets weight under control.
Toileting Prior to Appointment
Please make sure your pet has been to the toilet BEFORE your appointment. If your pet soils themselves during a groom or in the crate waiting you could be charged to rewash your dog.
Pre-Existing Conditions
If your dog has frequent ear infections, skin problems or allergies please warn prior to appointment, Ellie's dog grooming is not liable in the event of a preexisting condition flaring up. The Bloomin Vet is a fantastic Vet in Logan that specialises in these problems.
