What is a Poodle!
These are the 3 Types of Poodles and the other names they may be known as. Each type of Poodle listed below varies in puppy traits.
Standard Poodle

The largest adaption of the poodle group, Standard Poodles vary in size. Usually recorded at 45-60cm (18-24ins) height should not be under 38cm (15ins) at the shoulder.

Characteristics
Toy Poodle
The Toy Poodle should be in every respect a replica, in minuet/toy or teacup, of the Poodle (Standard). Height at shoulder should be under 28 cm (11 ins).

Miniature Poodle
The Mini or Miniature Poodle should be in every respect a replica, in miniature, of the Poodle (Standard). Height at shoulder should be under 38 cm (15 ins) but not under 28 cm (11 ins).

A very active, intelligent, well balanced and elegant looking dog with good temperament, carrying himself very proudly. Good temperament and
sound, free movement and light gait.

The coat is very profuse and dense of good harsh texture without knots or tangles. All short hair close, thick and curly. It is strongly recommended that the traditional puppy or miami clip be adhered to and dogs are groomed regularly (2-6weeks) to reduce the likelihood of matting.
​
Poodles come in a variety of solid colours including: Apricot, Black, Blue, Chocolate, Cafe Au lait, Cream, Gray, Red, Silver, Silver beige and White. There are also colour variations such as Parti-Poodles and Phantom Poodles

Like every breed of dog, poodles are also prone to certain health risks and genetic traits that are inherited. Some of the health risks that make occur include:

Most of these problems can be ruled out through specialised DNA testing making sure the parent are health before producing pups and raising puppies in an educated way based on physical and mental development.

Our Puppies
As we said above the health and well-being of our dogs and puppies are of the highest importance to us. Our Dams and Studs have been specifically chosen for their health and temperament. We understand you may want some more information on this.

Dams & Studs. To start off with we picked the healthiest dogs we could from breeders who produce amazing high quality dogs both in health and temperament. These dogs have already passed health testing.

DNA Health Testing - The tests we use are simply to show we are confident in their health and they are not at risk for any conditions that may effect them in the future. The genetic testing is with Orivet or Embark and is breed specific for toy poodles as well as any other recommended tests for the breed standard. Because of our rigorous testing we offer a health guarantee on our pups outlined in the contract.

Temperament Testing - A variety of temperament testing methods are used including IAADP Temperament Screening, ACK Temperament Test, Volhard Aptitude Test.

Puppy Raising & Early Training - We have a specially written program for how we raise our puppies, socialise them and train them. This draws from Puppy Culture as well as stages of development, key socialisation periods and training goals.
